Karuna House - Newberg, OR

Product / Pattern: Thermocromex / Riven
Architect: Holst Architecture

Quote: Cory Hawbecker, Project Architect / Project Manager, Holst Architecture "The Karuna House is an aspirational project pursuing Passive House, Minergie-P ECO and LEED for Homes Platinum Certifications. Thermocromex was the perfect cladding to meet to the high standards of sustainability and the rigorous design aesthetic we had developed. Two primary characteristics that make it the right choice for this project are the wide variety of attractive finishes and colors available, as well as the low carbon footprint of the product when compared to ordinary stucco."

The Linq - Las Vegas, NV

Pattern: Tandour
Architect: David M. Schwartz

The Linq Las Vegas which is the newest dining, shopping and nightlife district framed by the world's tallest observation wheel, had over 20,000 square feet of Thermocromex installed on various buildings including the "Brooklyn Bowl". Chosen not only for its' performance characteristics which includes never having to be recolored, Thermocromex met the design requirements for duplicating the look of natural stone with scored joints that matched the detailed drawings from the design team. Along with substantial cost savings, Thermocromex reduced construction time by eliminating the need for reinforcing the walls which is required for stone panels. The natural beauty of this high performance limestone plaster is enhanced by the smooth finish and warmth of the custom color that was chosen for Caesar's new "entertainment district".

Newport Beach Civic Center – Library Building - Newport Beach, CA

Pattern: Tandour
Architect: Bohlin Cywinski Jackson

Performance and design aesthetics were equally important to the design firm when choosing an exterior cladding for the Newport Beach Civic Center. The large overhangs have expansion joints only where angle changes are present with Thermocromex direct applied to a cement board substrate without any control joints.

FIU Science Classroom Complex - Miami, FL

Product / Pattern: Thermocromex / Custom Multi-Color - Custom Finish
Architect: Perkins & Will

The original building design for the Florida International Universities (FIU) Science Classroom Complex was to use pre-cast concrete to match the design aesthetics of the adjacent buildings. When pricing came in over budget they turned to Thermocromex for its ability to perform in a humid climate zone, duplicate the look of the pre-cast concrete along with substantial cost savings. When Thermocromex was presented to the university the client could not tell one product from the other and when informed that there was a cost savings of 60% ($30-$60.00 sq. ft.) it was an easy decision to switch products. Over 60,000 sq. ft. of Thermocromex was installed on exterior walls, columns, stairwells soffits and walkways. A second project at FIU, "The Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work" utilizing over 40,000 sq. ft. of Thermocromex as the exterior cladding will begin installation in January of 2014.

Social Security Administration Building - Baltimore, MD

Product / Pattern: Thermocromex / Custom Multi-Color  to match Pre-cast stone
Installer: Bradleigh Applications
Architect: AECOM

Over 10,000 square feet of Thermocromex was installed in a custom multi-colored pattern with scored joints to duplicate the look of pre-cast stone. This was an interior application direct applied to cement board and installed in the main atrium along with other common areas. Thermocromex was chosen for its ability to match the adjacent pre-cast stone at a fraction of the cost, along with its use of non-fading inorganic pigments for a finish that never needs to be re-colored.

Museum of Time and Glass - Evanston, IL

Pattern: Two-Color Tandour
Architect: Wallin Gomez Architects, Ltd

Over 30,000 sq.ft. of Thermocromex was installed in this cold-weather climate using the Tandour pattern with custom colors on a frame sheathing substrate. Thermocromex was selected as the exterior cladding due to its superior performance, as well as for its natural beauty and depth in coloration, only achieved with a "through-color" product made with natural materials. Another rason for eing selected was the unmatched 20-year performance warranty that ensures keeping rain from the substrate, delamination ... and much more.
